Some are Born Great...

Attention!

Black Women...

"Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them." (Shakespeare, 1601).

To understand the sentiments of this statement, one needs to know that it means there are those when an opportunity arises where greatness is within reach if you apply yourself.

This is not just about Kamala but about Black women all over this country. Over the next two years at least, we will need the strength of our ancestors because they are coming for us with every arrow in their quiver. From every derogatory notion you can come up with, whether it's the violence (Sonya Massey, Sandra Bland, Breonna Taylor, & many other women), professional (Antoinette Candia-Bailey, Fani Willis, Claudine Gay), political (reproductive rights and sexuality).

 BRACE YOURSELF.

It will come from both INSIDE and OUTSIDE the house. Your long-time coworkers, church members, maybe family, neighbors, and even the teachers working in your child's school will show their true colors. No one is coming to our rescue but us!

Expert Level Gaslighting--------> American Government

*Remember Stacy Abrams.

In the current language...America will be that narcissistic boyfriend, Sis, that you can't go no contact with because we have children, so enforcing healthy boundaries is critical.

I have always spoken about women's strength, resilience, and greatness, particularly of Black Women. Black women need to recognize our Sparkle! Sis, this is not a time for backbiting, tearing each other down, or whatever mistreatment or abusive tactics you are accustomed to. Sis, you know you do...

This is an opportunity for US to recognize how powerful we are and use that prowess strategically. Just like at the office, I may differ from you on several things, but we have a job to do. We must do this now! We have endured so much from this country, yet we keep going, giving our best to this country, and putting the plight of others on our shoulders without any reprieve and fickle acknowledgments or support. Over the years we have given the reins to others for too long, and look where we are now.

Our main areas of commitment for this election cycle will be building strong support coalitions and leveraging all platforms with a clear and consistent message. Check out these resources to get involved.

*When people see your Power, they will do everything they can to keep you from seeing it. Don't let these next few years (because this will not just quiet down after November 2024) be the unraveling of a sisterhood ordained by God herself to make this world a better place.

This is the time for Black women to rise above the fray and acknowledge the Power within. In the words of Sam Cooke, a change is gonna come...because we have work to do!

The Cost of Overdelivering: How to Reclaim Your Time and Talent.

  By Dr. Dori B. Cook | NACR3: Strength. Resilience. Sparkle. You do the most. Not because you’re trying to impress. Not because you’re trying to outshine anyone. But because you’ve been conditioned to prove your worth through your output. And let’s be real: overdelivering got you here. But it won’t get you there —to freedom, sustainability, joy, or equity. In the world of Black women entrepreneurs, overdelivering is often disguised as excellence . But what it really creates is exhaustion, entitlement from others, and erosion of your boundaries. Let’s talk about it. What Overdelivering Actually Costs You Yes, it earns praise. It may even temporarily increase revenue or referrals. But over time, the costs begin to stack: Real Cost Hidden Impact Undercharging          Devalues your skill, normalizes burnout pricing People-Pleasing          Trains clients to expect beyond your scope Self-Neglect         ...
