Embrace Your Brilliance: A Month of Strength, Resilience, and Sparkle for Black Women in August 2023

August is a month of empowerment, a time to celebrate the achievements and contributions of Black women worldwide. As we embrace our unique identities, experiences, and strengths, we are reminded of the importance of practicing self-love and resilience. In this blog post, we will explore how to cultivate strength, resilience, and sparkle throughout this transformative month. This is a special shout-out to my August Leos! Happy Birthday to Us!

Cultivate Strength

Strength is not just physical; it is the mental, emotional, and spiritual power that resides within each of us. As Black women, we have endured challenges throughout history, making us inherently strong. During August 2023, let's continue to nurture our strength by:

  • Engaging in Self-Care: Take time for yourself daily. Practice mindfulness, exercise, and indulge in activities that bring joy and peace to your soul. Remember, self-care is not selfish; it is necessary for our well-being.
  • Celebrating Sisterhood: Foster connections with other Black women. Share experiences, uplift one another, and create a supportive community. Together, we can build a network of empowerment and encouragement.
  • Embracing Vulnerability: It takes strength to be vulnerable and open. Allow yourself to express emotions and seek support when needed. Vulnerability is not a sign of weakness but a testament to our courage.

Embrace Resilience

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from setbacks and challenges. Throughout history, Black women have displayed incredible resilience, and in August 2023, we can further nurture this characteristic by:

  • Reframing Mindset: Transform negative thoughts into positive affirmations. Believe in your abilities, even when faced with obstacles. Remember, your resilience has carried you through countless trials.
  • Learning from the Past: Reflect on the struggles and triumphs of our ancestors. Their resilience laid the foundation for our strength today. Acknowledge their sacrifices and honor their legacy.
  • Setting Goals: Identify your aspirations and set achievable goals. With each accomplishment, you strengthen your belief in your capabilities.

Sparkle and Celebrate Yourself

To sparkle is to radiate confidence, love, and positivity. August 2023 is the perfect time to celebrate yourself and acknowledge your worth by:

  • Practicing Self-Appreciation: Write down a list of your achievements and qualities that make you unique. Embrace your talents and embrace self-love.
  • Showing Gratitude: Take a moment each day to express gratitude for the blessings in your life. Gratitude grounds us and enhances our sparkle.
  • Embodying Confidence: Stand tall and exude confidence. Embrace your beauty, intelligence, and everything that makes you who you are.

August 2023 is a month of empowerment and self-celebration for Black women. As we cultivate strength, resilience, and sparkle, we honor our history and pave the way for a brighter future. Embrace your brilliance and radiate it to the world. Together, let us continue to uplift one another and celebrate the magnificent women we are, leaving a lasting impact on our communities and beyond. Cheers to you, and Happy Empowerment Month!

PEARLs and TAXES

Good day Pearls , Now that the holiday season has come to an end our next big endeavor is TAX TIME! Of course, tax time tends to overwhelm the best of us but fiscal responsibility for business owners and individuals should not be frightful as long as you are preparing yourself accordingly. Though you may be quite familiar with filing your own taxes, don’t assume you are an expert with your small business tax responsibilities. In 2020, Pearls are Financially Strong, Resilient and Luminous. We, women small business owners need to ensure that we are rendering our businesses/side hustles healthy in all fiscal avenues. To prepare for this blog entry, I took the opportunity to speak with a Certified Public Accountant in the DC Metropolitan area with over 20+ years of experience to give some pointers on keeping your hustle solid and fiscally sound. Mr. Robert L. Waller, CPA/CFE , was eager to provide direction for Women Small Business Owners on a few questions regarding responsibiliti

Pearls, Pods, Purpose

Dear Pearls,  Thank you for patiently awaiting the next blog post of Nacr3! Covid-19 has been a major interruption in the flow of everyone's lives from our children to our elderly. Everyone has been impacted in a major way in all areas of their livelihoods: socio-economic, mental health, emotional health, family and friend relationships, and physical health. No one can doubt that it's highly unlikely that things will return to be 100 percent the same as our Pre-COVID lives, but Pearls this world-wide pandemic (both Covid-19 and BLM) has taken a toll on us all and we should look to recollect and emerge as the Pearl you are! Just think of COVID/BLM as the irritant our little oyster needed to create the best that is within us.  During the brief hiatus, every other day, week, and month I continued to contemplate the scope and sequence of the blog yearly outline. The first 2 weeks of March until the present day has shown me a few things about my own Nacr3. And I figured that I can&#

Keep On, Keeping On!

Hey Pearls! The day has arrived when my solo writing project is complete. It is your pathway into my circle and my village. Grace Under Pressure: A Southern Belle in the City has arrived and is ready for purchase.  This labor of love took reflection, self-critique, dedication, and self-actualization. So, today we are going to acknowledge how this process can be the result of pearl-forming activities. I took the past 22 months to write the first installment of my journey as a village keeper. Traveling down this road of reflection required a lot of soul-searching, speaking truth to those things that held mental manipulation in my life, and building my knowledge about the behaviors and psychological attributes that impact my perspective and outlook on life.  Grace Under Pressure helped me build my strength as a woman because I learned a lot about myself and truly understood my pieces. Reflection and Self-critique allow for one to seriously consider their thinking, how it originated, and
