Why Wait On It?

 Good day Pearls,

It’s the Summer Time! The dreariness of the Winter has rolled on away, and now we are ready to see the sun.

I want to be honest with you today. I have been on a mission to get my goals completed, and I can see the finish line. In this work, I identified deadweight situations that just refused to shake me loose until recently. Yet, here I am...revitalized and excited about what the exciting new season will bring me. Pearls, it’s great when you can be you unapologetically.

Being me is actually one of the most satisfying experiences I have ever had in my life. Even though it can intimidate others when you are unapologetic about being yourself, I have learned not to be so quick to dim my shine just because someone can’t handle the focus. But there is also a matter of my being that can negatively affect my progress. The past 19 months have taught me that one true thing is that procrastination is my kryptonite. It can cripple all of my efforts if I allow it. I know that I am not alone in this fight to stop putting things off. This monster subverts the best-laid plans to tackle any goal.

I considered my own behavior towards a significant goal with a 9-month deadline (9 months of the 19 set initially). What I learned about myself and the effects of procrastination was enlightening. Always looking to share with my clan, I knew that I should pass this information and insight to my village. Pearl, if you are looking to beat your Procrastination Troll, here is a Ted Talk from Tim Urban, a co-creator at Wait But Why? (check it out). He is spot on with his characterization of procrastinating behavior. I hope this helps you with your procrastination monster. ***I do not own the rights to this video.

Sparkle On!

Strategic Legacy Building in 2024!

Happy New Year, Pearls! It is great to be back at the regularly scheduled events. So let's get into it.  As an urban-based education administrator and passionate advocate for inclusive learning, I understand the power of creating spaces that foster success for BIPOC students. Today, I want to redirect my and your focus to my other dynamic group within our community: Black women mom-preneurs. These incredible individuals embody Strength, Resilience, and Sparkle! —the core elements of the NACR3 Effect. Here's a strategic guide on how you, Pearl, can build your legacy in 2024. Strength Define Your Purpose: Begin by identifying your passion and purpose. What legacy do you want to leave for your children and the community? This clarity will be the driving force behind your journey. Prioritize Self-Care : Balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship requires self-care. Nurture your well-being to maintain the energy and enthusiasm needed for sustainable success. Remember, taking care o

becoming...Pearl

Happy Day Pearl, One thing 2020 has taught me is that self-reflection is the new 'wokeness'... the master key to enjoying life. Over the last 9 months, I, like a lot of people around the world, have had quite a bit of time to sit in my home and engage in moments of, at times intense, self-reflection thanks to COVID-19. I had a lot of time to look at old pictures, read old journal entries, and continue writing on my upcoming project. But this day, I had an inspiration arrive and Pearls I am thankful for this opportunity.  Self-reflection's greatest vehicle is transition. For me this time of year, August through October has always represented transition. From birthdays, the beginning of things again after some time of growth to the end of my favorite season, Summer. So here I am in this transition of seasons, work cycles, and personal growth with self-reflection as the skipper .   Self-Reflection is   becoming Strong ,  becoming Resilient , and  becoming Luminous ! becoming..

Pearls, Pods, Purpose

Dear Pearls,  Thank you for patiently awaiting the next blog post of Nacr3! Covid-19 has been a major interruption in the flow of everyone's lives from our children to our elderly. Everyone has been impacted in a major way in all areas of their livelihoods: socio-economic, mental health, emotional health, family and friend relationships, and physical health. No one can doubt that it's highly unlikely that things will return to be 100 percent the same as our Pre-COVID lives, but Pearls this world-wide pandemic (both Covid-19 and BLM) has taken a toll on us all and we should look to recollect and emerge as the Pearl you are! Just think of COVID/BLM as the irritant our little oyster needed to create the best that is within us.  During the brief hiatus, every other day, week, and month I continued to contemplate the scope and sequence of the blog yearly outline. The first 2 weeks of March until the present day has shown me a few things about my own Nacr3. And I figured that I can&#
